Guido Convents is a Belgian film historian specialising in colonial and non-western cinema. He has published seven books on Africa Cinema. He works as a journalist for the World Catholic Associatioin for Communication (SIGNIS) in Brussels. Since 1996 he has been president of the Afrika Filmfestival in Leuven (Belgium).

Hanne Couderé is a Belgian freelance journalist. She studied Political Sciences and Development Studies in Antwerp and Brussels, and completed a postgraduate course in International Research Journalism.
Hanne Phlypo (°1984) graduated from INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts de Spectacle et de la Diffusion) in Brussels in 2006. Thereafter she explored all aspects of filmmaking. With Antoine Vermeesch she set up her own production company, Clin d'oeil. Silent Stories is her first documentary project.
