BRUSSELS - This story tells how European border and migration policy is making life difficult for people on the Balkan route. Officially, the route is closed, but this research shows how it is still active.
European migration policy has turned out to be a shameless game of ping-pong with migrants and refugees between, among others, Turkey and Greece, Greece and Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Hope has given way to hopelessness.
