AALBORG – Nordjylland power station in Denmark, owned by Aalborg Forsyningen, halted coal supply from Glencore after an investigation published by Danwatch and followed up by some other media.

This investigation by Danwatch and El Turbion revealed severe environmental damage and workers' and communities rights violations in Glencore's Colombian Cerrejon mine.

It was further picked up by other Danish media, and in August 2023, the chairman of Nordjylland Power Station –  a coal-fired combined heat and power plant near Aalborg, one of the biggest in Denmark — stated that they had a full stop on buying coal from Glencore.

In November, they reconfirmed that they intend to keep that position and won't buy from them in the future.
