Tobias Dammers is a freelance journalist and filmmaker from Germany. In his work he is focussing on conflict and crisis abroad as well as radicalism and extremism in Germany. 

He has extensively covered the war in Ukraine for Germany’s public broadcast network ARD and reported from various regions of crisis such as Nagorno-Karabakh, Lebanon, Republic of the Congo, Cambodia and Kenya. Tobias Dammers’ work has been featured in leading German-speaking outlets such as ARD, ZDF, Deutschlandfunk, WDR, Deutsche Welle, and Tagesspiegel.

While he is mainly focussing on web video documentaries and TV reporting, he is also publishing online articles, podcasts, radio features and social content.  

Tobias Dammers studied Journalism at Technische Universität Dortmund and Bilgi University Istanbul. He also holds a Master degree in Law and Politics of International Security of the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. He speaks German, English, French and Dutch.
