Monika Stefanek (1978) is a Polish journalist based in Berlin.
After studying Polish Philology, Journalism and Marketing at the University of Szczecin, she worked as a journalist for the regional newspaper Glos Szczecinski from 2002 to 2009.
Since the beginning of her journalistic career, she has worked on the Polish-German borderland, Polish-German affairs and Eastern Europe. From 2009 to 2010 she was a holder of the European Journalism Fellowship at the Freie Universität Berlin. She currently lives in Berlin and works as a freelancer for Polish and German media (including Polish Public Radio, the European Radio Network EuRaNet and n-ost Network, and the Press Agency for Eastern Europe).
In 2010 she won the European Young Journalist Award.
