Janvier Murairi is a Congolese civil society leader and activist working in the mining areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is the President of ASSODIP, a not-for-profit organization based in eastern Congo that undertakes research and advocacy programs in support of rural populations.

Janvier is also the acting Executive Secretary of a coalition of 11 Congolese anti-slavery organizations. And, he previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for Solidarity for Social Promotion and Peace. Janvier also worked at the Congolese national radio and television. In 2016 he was awarded the Roger Baldwin Medal of Liberty by Human Rights First as an anti-slavery activist in DR Congo’s mining sector.
