Elke Borghs is a freelance journalist. She connects anthropology with investigative journalism.
She lived in Puerto Barrios near Santo Tomas, Guatemala, for a year in 1997-1998. As a local contact person and interpreter, she accompanied the directors of the documentary Tu ne verras pas Verapaz. She made a master thesis in anthropology and a final paper in investigative journalism on this.
