Finnish investigative journalist working for Finnish Public Broadcaster Yle

Her investigations into money laundering, corruption, and labour conditions in Bangladeshi garment factories have earned her several awards. These include the Koura TV Prize and a special award from the Association of Investigative Journalism for her work on the Panama Papers in 2017. She was also named Journalist of the Year and won the Grand Prize for Journalism in 2015, as well as the Anders Chydenius/Freedom of Information Award in 2014 for her work investigating tax havens with ICIJ (Offshore Leaks and LuxLeaks). She also won the Sigma Award in 2020 for her work on the Troika Laundromat in collaboration with OCCRP. Her documentary on the secret business of used garments was nominated for the 2021 Prix Europa.

She is the author of two books on the Panama Papers: "Projekt Panama" (in Swedish) and "Tarkoin Varjeltu" (in Finnish).

Knus-Galán regularly delivers lectures on investigative journalism in Finland and abroad. She is a member of the Journalismfund Europe advisory board and co-organiser of the Helsinki conference on investigative journalism (Tutki). She was the inaugural chair of the ICIJ Network Committee (2017–2022) and of the Finnish Association of Investigative Journalism Tutkivat (2009–2013). She graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Communication at the University of Navarre in Spain.

She is fluent in Swedish, Finnish, English, Spanish and has knowledge of French.
