Leila Bičakčić is one of the founding members of the award-winning Center for Investigative Reporting, which is modelled on US non-profit media agencies. The organisation specialises in reporting on corruption, the nexus between the political elite and organised crime groups, and the monitoring of the use of public funds and politician assets. For its work, CIN has won numerous national and international awards, including the Daniel Pearl Award and the Shining Star Award. Most recently, a CIN story on vote buying was a finalist for the 2021 European Press Prize for the best story on corruption in Europe.
