SLOVIANSK - This project aims to develop a modern, user-friendly fundraising platform integrated within the media ecosystem, introducing a tiered membership model offering exclusive content, direct engagement with the editorial team, and a community-driven support. This initiative will improve the financial sustainability and deepen relationships with the audience.

The aim is to create a modern, reader-driven fundraising platform that empowers independent journalism by introducing a tiered membership model. This platform will allow readers to support the work through financial contributions, helping sustain independent media amidst Ukraine's ongoing media plurality crisis caused by war, economic instability, staff shortages, and the loss of advertising revenue.

Currently, the primary solution for financial stability in the independent media sector is to rely on donor funding. While this support is essential, it is not sustainable in the long term. This approach focuses on diversifying revenue streams by creating a model where the audience becomes an active partner in sustaining independent journalism.

Expected result of the project

  • Launch a fully operational membership and fundraising platform within the first two months
  • Recruit at least 500 new regular donors in the first 12 months
  • Create and share exclusive content to boost audience engagement
  • Establish a scalable membership model that can be replicated by other independent media outlets
