SYRIA - War is not only waged with weapons but also through conflicting ideologies given to children in wartime education. Journalist Pieter Stockmans went to Syria and Turkey and found a struggle for land and values.

Together with Syrian-Kurdish Belgian Roni Hossein, Stockmans spent weeks with ordinary people, parties and militias resuscitating a dying country, while pieces of it are besieged by IS. At the Turkish-Syrian border, they talked to wounded jihadists. On the borders of Europe, they dived into the world of a lost generation of war children.
