PRISTINA - Up until nine years after the Kosovo War, from 1999 to 2008, Kosovo was ran by UNMIK (United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo).
In 2008, after having been heavily criticized for failing to achieve many of its objectives, most of UNMIK's assignments were transferred to EULEX (European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo). EULEX investigation and judicial units inherited a difficult task: making justice of nine years of untold financial scandals involving UNMIK high officials.
