Marcus is a German journalist and co-founder of Vertical52.
Since 2012, he has specialised in complex storytelling projects. Together with his teams, Marcus has produced numerous award-winning stories: for example, he tracked electronic waste that was smuggled into West Africa. Or a missing painting that saved the life of a Jewish family in 1938. He builds his stories with the help of innovative technologies such as GPS transmitters and sensors, which he used to make three dairy cows ‘speak’.
Since 2022, he has been conducting research from space and managing the business of Vertical52 GmbH.
