Texty.org.ua is an independent, award-winning Ukrainian online media outlet established in 2010. It is part of Data Journalism Agency – a Ukrainian NGO – which works as a think tank and publishes this media.
The mission of the Data Journalism Agency is to enhance the transparency of the authorities and governing bodies through the development of high-quality journalism and data journalism. TEXTY is a knowledge-transfer media, as they organise a large number of training events for everyone who wants to learn how to work with data.
They strive to study every problem thoroughly and illustrate with data what is happening rather than simply presenting different points of view. The SIGMA Awards (2020, 2025) and the European Press Prize (2024) are among the latest international recognitions of the organization.
TEXTY has unique experience in Ukraine in data journalism, data analysis and visualising open data. A key part of their work involves studying Russian propaganda and information campaigns using machine-learning algorithms. The team regularly works with a wide range of data, from government and municipal open data to satellite image and text processing, making use of algorithmic models and AI.
