Slow News strives to create a space for reflection, dialogue, and understanding, inviting our audience to journey with us beyond the headlines.

Slow News is founded in 2014 and formalized as a small company in 2017, Slow News stands as an independent beacon in the Italian media landscape, championing the practice and dissemination of slow journalism. Our ethos is simple yet profound: to delve deeper, researching meticulously to provide news stories and analyses that break away from the rapid and often superficial news cycle dominating mainstream media today. Our team, composed of seasoned journalists, editors, and contributors, is united by a commitment to quality, prioritising comprehensive coverage over mere quantity.

Mission and activities
At the heart of Slow News are activities designed to enlighten and engage. We publish long-form articles, investigative reports, journalistic series, and multimedia content, each piece crafted to provide nuanced insights into the pressing issues of our time. Our focus spans a wide array of critical topics, including technology, environmental challenges, social justice, poverty, and radical proposals for addressing global dilemmas (like open access, universal basic income and so on), using the lens of solutions journalism, too.

Beyond content creation, Slow News is deeply invested in fostering media literacy. We organise workshops, seminars, and public discussions aimed at enhancing understanding of complex issues among both our audience and journalists. Our commitment to media literacy underscores the vital role of journalism in society and its power to inform and empower.
