Baynana is a bilingual online media outlet based in Spain, publishing content in both Arabic and Spanish.
Baynana is dedicated to social and public service journalism. Our magazine aims to provide the Arabic-speaking community in Sain with useful information and, at the same time, to build bridges between migrants, refugees and Spanish people of foreign origin and the rest of the population. Baynana means ‘between us’ in the broadest sense of the word: “we” are “all of us”, with no “others” or “them”.
Baynana was created in collaboration with Fundación por Causa, and forms an integral part of its network of projects and initiatives.
Baynana has four missions:
- To provide the Arabic-speaking community in Spain with useful, high-quality information.
- To present different perspectives on the experiences of refugees, migrants and members of the Arab community (although not exclusively Arab) in Spain.
- To combat existing stereotypes about the Arab world in Spanish society.
- To fourth is to build bridges between the Arab community and Spain, bringing in order to bring different sectors of society closer together and emphasising our shared culture and history.
