5W is a narrative journalism and photography magazine from Spain.

The 5W´s are the basis of a journalistic feature: questions that don't admit a yes or no, but an explanation. 5W is a narrative journalism and photography magazine launched in 2015 by a group of independent journalists. We have a network spread across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East to tell what's happening around the world.
5W is owned by the people who work at the magazine. There is no majority shareholder, but eight journalists and one web expert have an equal stake in the company. The entire collective participates in strategic decision-making and in building the spirit of 5W.
Our motto since we were born in 2015 is “Small stories, big explanations”. 5W is an outlet to help you understand what's going on in the world. A magazine that travels to Africa or Asia without fear of the tyranny of the click. A media attentive to social and cultural movements. A magazine that scans this era of hatred, xenophobia and global threats. A magazine that explores the ideas of the contemporary world, that helps to think but also to see, smell and touch what is farther away.
