Makes Sense is a civil society organisation that is dedicated to empowering communities by using media, education and civic engagement strategically.

The organisation originated from the 6262 – City Website of Sloviansk, which was launched in 2014 amid the outbreak of armed conflict in the Donbas region. Over the past decade, it has served as a vital source of information for residents of Sloviansk and the wider Donetsk region, as well as for communities on the front line. Following the large-scale invasion in 2022, we relocated part of our team to Chernivtsi, where we continue our work.

PO 'Makes Sense' operates three core branches: Media Platforms, Educational Initiatives and Media Hubs. Our media department includes:

  • 6262 – The City Website of Sloviansk, covering Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and the surrounding area.
  • 0372 – The City Website of Chernivtsi is a platform based in Chernivtsi for Western Ukraine that has recently been certified by the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI).
