DAmedia (publicly CHAYKA) is a non‑profit society founded in 2018 in Daugavpils.
They are an independent regional newsroom that publishes in Russian and Latvian (they are the only independent newsroom in Latgale that publishes in Russian). Their main audience is Russian‑speaking, with a growing Latvian‑speaking segment.
They reach about 80,000 monthly website users and large annual social and video audiences. They follow strict editorial ethics, and since February 2025 they have been members of the Latvian Media Ethics Council with a public editorial code. Platforms include our bilingual website, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
