Tom Brown is a freelance energy, climate and conflict reporter with a background in financial journalism, writing for Al Jazeera, the Guardian and New Lines Magazine.
He heads oil and gas investigations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, with projects funded by the European Journalism Centre, the Environmental Reporting Collective, The Earth Investigations Programme, the Fund for Investigative Journalism and the Arena Climate Network.
His "Choking Kurdistan" investigative series into gas flaring won NASA’s Michael H. Freilich 2022 Award and has been shortlisted for the Fetisov Journalism Awards for Excellence in Environmental Journalism.
