Steffi Unsleber is a German investigative journalist.

She studied political science and psychology before attending the Zeitenspiegel Reportageschule in Reutlingen. She began her career at Taz in 2012, where she worked as an editor in the weekend and investigative departments, focusing on rural communities, right-wing extremism, and social issues. Her reporting has taken her to Israel and Russia, including stints at Haaretz in Tel Aviv and Novaya Gazeta in Moscow through an IJP fellowship.

She worked as a political reporter for the German daily WELT and then as an editor in the labour department of ZEIT ONLINE. Since February 2024, she has been an editor and investigative journalist at the Berlin-based documentary production company Tell me Why.
