Sofía López Mañán (Argentina) is an artist, photographer, filmmaker, and naturalist whose work explores the entangled relationships between humans and the environme

Combining art and scientific inquiry, she works across photography, film, archival research, performance, and speculative storytelling to question anthropocentric narratives and investigate how constructs of nature, identity, and interspecies relationships shape our perception of the world.

Her long-term project A Book of Nature (to be published by Sed Editorial in 2025) was part of the Joop Swart Masterclass (2019) and received recognition from POY Latam, PhMuseum, and Sony. She has been awarded production grants from National Geographic, the Pulitzer Center, Ami Vitale and Journalism Fund for environmental projects across Latin America.

Her debut feature documentary, Kamatsu’s Odyssey, premiered in the International Competition at BAFICI 2024, went on to screen at festivals worldwide.
