Sascha Montag is a German photojournalist.

After completing his training as a social worker, he worked on various youth welfare projects in Berlin, where he developed a passion for capturing social stories with his camera. He taught himself the necessary techniques to become a photographer.

From 2002 onwards, he worked as a freelance photographer for the German Press Agency (dpa) and, since late 2008, for Zeitenspiegel Reportagen. His photos have appeared in major newspapers and magazines in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Sascha Montag has received multiple awards and fellowships for his work. Most recently, he won the Constructive World Award, the Kindernothilfe-Medienpreis and the Deutscher Sozialpreis.
