Sanja Petrov is a journalist from Vranje, Serbia.

Sanja has been active in journalism since 2011, taking a break from 2016 to 2020 to work in the civil sector, focusing on vulnerable social groups. She has worked as a correspondent for regional and national media outlets and has received an award for excellence in local media editing. In her work, she focuses on topics that go "beyond the news," providing a platform for local voices. She emphasises the importance of independent local media in the face of pressure and misinformation, and is strengthening the capacities of the Slobodna reč newsroom.
