Nicole Graaf is a freelance journalist from Germany. 

With a background in Anthropology and Central Asian Studies her work focuses on narrative stories about social, environmental and human rights issues internationally. 

Nicole received the Willi-Bleicher-Award in 2017 for a radio piece on working conditions in the Indian leather industry and was nominated for the prestigious German Reporters Award in 2019 for a multimedia story on the illegal trafficking of fish swim bladders between Mexico and China. 

Nicole is a regular contributor for German public radio „Deutschlandfunk“ and writes for acclaimed German and international print and online media.
