Monica Pelliccia is an Italian freelance multimedia journalist who covers environmental and social issues such as biodiversity conservation, women's issues, climate change, Indigenous Peoples' rights, food security and agro-ecology.
She has produced reports from India, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Brazil, Kyrgyzstan and Sri Lanka for Mongabay, El Pais, L’Espresso, The Guardian and other international outlets. She was a 2017 Adelante Fellow with the International Women's Media Foundation, earned a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University and the University of Barcelona.
