Max Cavallari is a documentary photographer based in Bologna, Italy.

He works on migration, technology, and the environment, and the links between these three often intertwined issues.

Over the years, he has focused on Italy's borders and attempts to cross them by people traveling along the Balkan route and across the Mediterranean.

His work also focuses heavily on climate change in Italy, from the lack of snow in the mountains to the heavy flooding in recent years and severe summer droughts.

For several years, he has collaborated with various NGOs in the Mediterranean Sea on search and rescue missions.

He collaborates with the ANSA agency, and his work has been published in national and international magazines and newspapers, from L'Espresso to The New York Times.

He has had the pleasure of having his work exhibited at Visa Pour l'Image in Perpignan, at UNESCO headquarter, at MUDEC in Milan, and at the Shanghai Photo Fair.
