Lætitia Béraud is a French video reporter currently working for “L’illustré”, a French speaking general-interest magazine in Switzerland.

She produces videos about Swiss news, vivid testimonies, interviews and portraits of Swiss personalities. Before that she worked 5 years for “Le Monde”, in Paris, to create visual stories for various platforms such as Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok. She was assistant editor of the team for a year before moving to Switzerland.

Her passion about environmental issues comes from her first internship at “Le Progrès”, the daily regional newspaper in her home region, Lyon, where she broke a story about water pollution by French giant pharmaceutical company Sanofi in 2015.

In 1987, a year after the Basel environmental disaster that left 1.5 million fishes dead in the Upper Rhine, nine European countries met and promised to restore the river including reintroducing Atlantic salmon by the year 2000 in its natural reproduction habitat in Switzerland. 35 years later, migratory fish travel up the river but are still stuck in France and can’t enter the Swiss confederation.
