Jules van Hal (1987) studied Slavic studies at the University of Amsterdam. He worked as a contributing editor for the journalistic start-up Yournalism.

As a freelance researcher for, among others, dailies de Volkskrant and Trouw, he was involved in projects about online organ trade and drugs trade on the darknet. He lives in Amsterdam.
