Joana Ascensão is a Portuguese journalist focused on health and gender inequalities.
Joan currently works as a journalist for the newspaper Expresso, and was previously part of the founding team of the radio programme Observador, as well as two digital video projects. Her reporting focuses on social issues such as inequalities, health, LGBT and women's rights, among others. She likes to focus on long-form investigative reporting.
