Delmi Álvarez is a Galician photojournalist and writer.
He started in photojournalism covering social struggles, like naval workers in Vigo and the women’s strike in Telanosa. From 1990 to 1991, he documented life in Cuba during the economic crisis after the Soviet Union collapsed. Between 1991 and 1994, he reported on the Yugoslav War for La Voz de Galicia and published Once Upon a Time in Europe. For 20 years, he traveled the world looking for Galicians who had emigrated during Franco’s rule, publishing Galegos na Diáspora.
