Daniel is the head of investigative cooperations at NDR, WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung. He’s also the chairman of Netzwerk Recherche, the association of investigative journalists in Germany.
Before that, he was the editor in chief of BuzzFeed News Germany and a co-founder of the first non-profit investigative newsroom in Germany, Correctiv. He studied Investigative Journalism at Columbia Journalism School in New York and has been an investigative reporter for more than 15 years, focussing on abuse of power, worker’s rights and the environment. Daniel has won multiple awards for his work and was named “editor in chief of the year” and “journalist of the year” in Germany.
