Daniel Camargos is an investigative reporter with 23 years of newsroom experience. He specialises in socio-environmental conflicts and human rights.

Daniel has been awarded Brazil's top journalism honours and nominated for international accolades such as the True Story Award, British Journalism Awards and Gabo Prize. He directed the documentary Accounts of a War Correspondent in the Amazon and is an alumnus of the Pulitzer Center's Rainforest Investigations Network. Currently, he serves as a special reporter for Repórter Brasil and a columnist for Carta Capital. His work has been featured in The Guardian, El País, BBC, Al Jazeera, Vice and Piauí.

A former director of the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji), he also served as vice president of the Journalists' Union of Minas Gerais.
