Cinzia Canneri is an Italian freelance photojournalist currently based in Italy.
She has documented the human condition, exploitation, social change, migration, and gender-based violence.
Her long-term project “Women’s Bodies as Battlefields” has received major international awards, including the World Press Photo (2025), Camille Lepage Award (2023), and POYi (2022).
Canneri’s work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, Aftenposten Innsikt, Days Japan, L'Obs, The Observer, Internazionale, Millennium, and L’Espresso.
Furthermore, it has been exhibited at the Ducal Palace in Genoa and the Exhibition Palace in Rome (2025), at the Xposure Festival in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (2025), at the Brooklyn Bridge Photoville Festival in New York, United States (2023), and at the Kawasaki Peace Museum in Kanagawa, Japan (2022).
