Christian Braga is a freelance photographer and documentary filmmaker based in Manaus in the Brazilian Amazon. For over 12 years, he has focused his work on the Amazon region, demonstrating a strong commitment to indigenous rights, environmental crimes and forest protection.

He has collaborated with national and international organisations including Greenpeace, WWF, the Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) and the Pulitzer Center. In 2019, he won the POY Latam – Picture of the Year Latin America photography award, and in 2022 he received the Cultures of Resistance Awards (CoR Awards) in recognition of his activism.

His photographs and documentaries have been published in outlets such as National Geographic, The Guardian, Sumaúma, InfoAmazônia, Al Jazeera and The Intercept. His work has also been exhibited in museums and galleries in Brazil and around the world. In 2024, he will begin working on a long-term project to publish the photobook Resilient, which focuses on abandoned industrial cities in the Brazilian Amazon.
