A former staff writer with The Herald, in Glasgow, Billy Briggs is a founder and co-editor of The Ferret, an investigative website in Scotland.

He’s reported from Iraq, Gaza, Pakistan, Russia and Syria, among other places, and freelanced for global media including The Guardian, Politico, Al Jazeera, The Sunday Times, and the BBC. Billy has investigated issues such as femicide, human trafficking and far right extremism. His prizes for his journalism include four Scottish Press Awards, two Amnesty International Media Awards, and a European Union Journalist Award. He contributed to Routledge’s academic book – Journalism, Power and Investigation.
