KYIV – The project focuses on the training and professional development of 20 regional journalists from Ukraine to conduct data-driven investigations.

The proposed educational program covers modern techniques for gathering and analysing environmental data, including indirect methods of researching. Curently the environment in Ukraine is under the double pressure of negative factors: well-known climatic changes that affect the entire European continent and the consequences of Russian military aggression.

The programme consists of 7 training days of lectures and workshops on data gathering, data analysis, use of the satellite data, clarification of the specific environmental indicators etc.

The organisers expect the participants to devote a total of 4-6 hours per week to study, taking into account joint training sessions (1-2 per week) and independent work. All selected participants will also receive mentoring support.

Also several scholarships will be available to prepare participants' own investigations, as the final stage of the training. Proposed range of topics:d igging into the complex issue of water resources, including rivers, groundwater, and more.
