AI, the media, Europe and me: European journalism and the challenge of Artificial Intelligence: This is the theme of the 2nd edition of the European Agora for Journalism to be held from November 20 to 22 in Brussels.
This event is open to the public and will bring together information professionals, journalists, managers, academics, students and teachers from the 27 member states of the European Union, to reflect on the conditions for quality journalism in Europe.
The European Agora for Journalism in Brussels is a biannual event where information & media professionals can discuss the challenges of their professions with the public, academics, the younger generation, the political and economic world, and civil society. They complement the Agora for Journalism held in France each year since 2007, and in Tunis since 2018. These gatherings are organised by Journalism & Citizenship (J&C).
On the agenda for this second edition in Brussels: how are European newsrooms adapting to AI? How can they unite and adapt their business models to these changes? What progress has been made in media and information literacy? This 2nd edition will also focus on more general issues, such as the journalistic coverage of war – in Europe and beyond its borders – climate emergency, migration and the current threats affecting press freedom and journalism in Europe.
