Headliner is the first non-profit organisation in Germany to combine journalism and culture in inspiring stage shows.
Developed out of the Slampions GbR, which has brought the format Reporter Slam to German as well as international stages since 2016, the non-profit was registered formally in May 2023. Besides the existing formats, new shows will be developed with a focus to connect journalists with a live audience. The performances counteract the rampant news fatigue. They also bring back the joy of work to the reporters and provide a new source of income for them.
In addition, media literacy, which is so important for a functioning democracy, is promoted, especially among the younger audience members. Shows with reporters and topics from several countries contribute to international understanding and promote a pluralistic society in Europe. Our shows abroad have been held in English; subtitles can be used for bilingual shows.
