On Friday 24 March 2017, the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, supported by the Council of Europe, will hold the conference “Promoting dialogue between the ECtHR and the media freedom community” in Strasbourg.
BRUSSELS – A new report on the EU’s fiscal policy calls for the EU to work towards better accessibility and transparency, among others by supporting the development of data and investigative journalism related to EU funds, much like Journalismfund.eu has been doing since 2008.
BRUSSELS – Journalismfund.eu has obtained funding to give special support by theme. For the call on September 15th we are thus able to allocate an additional €20,000 to carry out cross-border journalism about EU spending.

BRUSSELS - The European Commission is proud to present the fifth edition of the EU Health Prize for Journalists. It is awarded to stimulate high-quality journalism that raises awareness of issues related to healthcare and citizen's rights.
The Evens Foundation is proud to present its first Prize for European Journalism. Within the media program the Evens Foundation has two main scopes: to increase media literacy and to promote high-quality journalism. Combining this latter interest with its European scope, that runs transversally through all activities, the board of the foundation decided to install a new prize: the Evens Prize for European Journalism.
BRUSSELS - A voyage of discovery through the European Union to explore the current state of investigative journalism. A search for answers to the question of whether robust, cross-border investigative journalism into fraud, mismanagement or human error in the spending of European money can contribute to improved European governance. During the last six months, this journey became a full-time occupation for investigative journalist Margo Smit and six of her colleagues.
