Phillip de Wet
Phillip de Wet is an associate editor at the Mail & Guardian, where he writes on everything from alleged art theft to plans to revitalise socialism in South Africa.
De Wet was outside the White House as America heard it had killed Osama bin Laden, and inside the courtroom as Oscar Pistorius went on trial for murder. In recent years his work has spanned government corruption, corporate corruption, suspected but unproven corruption, proven but unprosecuted corruption, murders linked to corruption, and even the occasional story that did not involve corruption at all. He was the founding deputy editor of news and analysis site Daily Maverick. He lives in Johannesburg.
